SETUP FOR CREATIVE INFORMATION
The CIMS system provides a means of storing creative ideas at the point of inception
without any hassle as to setting up a file name or which directory it is to be stored
in. Furthermore it provides an easy way to access the document so as to add more ideas
as they evolve regarding a specific invention or creative enhancement.
How many times have you had a great idea but did not record it and it fizzled into
oblivion. This system will provide you with a means of recording creative ideas
without any technical hassle.
Selecting the CIMS idea management system will show this display. You will then
select option (C). This will access the creative idea facility. Note that option (B)
is provided to describe the procedure for you.
The system will come with these four categories. You can change these to your liking
but at least it is a starting point. The four categories are:
- MY INVENTIONS
- HOME REMEDIES
- MY SPECIAL RECIPES
- MY SPECIAL TECHNIQUES
MY SPECIAL TECHNIQUES has also four sub categories as shown:
My SPECIAL RECIPES has four sub categories as shown:
First of all lets perform a simple edit. You have noticed that the spelling of
RECIPIES is incorrect. It should be RECIPES. Lets make the correction both on
a menu line item and a heading for a sub category list. First we will fix the
line item. Bring up the display as shown:
Now rather than clicking on a line item or entering a line item code you will
enter (X). You will get the following display:
In response to the question 'ARE YOU ONLY MAKING CHANGES TO THE MENU DISPLAY? you will
answer (Y)es. An arrow will point to the first entry. Since you want to change line
3, press the ENTER key until the pointer positions to that line. Now retype the entry
in total C) MY SPECIAL RECIPES as shown below:
You will get a message that the control module has been updated and then it will be
displayed as shown below with the correction that you have entered:
Now lets correct the next menu that has errors. The sub category for recipes has two
errors, one in the menu header RECIPIES and line item D) APPETIZERS. Again press the (X)
key and respond (Y)es to the question "ARE YOU ONLY MAKING CHANGES TO THE MENU DISPLAY?
The next menu appears. position the arrow first by pressing the ENTER key
to D) APPETIZERS and correct the spelling. Now when you press the ENTER key one more
time it will position to the HEADING, now retype the total heading with the proper spelling:
When you are finished you will get a message that the module has been updated and it then
will be displayed with the corrections as shown below:
Now lets record a creative idea. Lets say you are in your spa and a UFO flies over
stops and when you see it takes off vertically at a tremendous speed. You say to yourself
first of all WOW! and your guests do the same. But you are an engineer and it comes to you
how an aircraft making no sound could do what you just saw. So you run in the house start
the computer, enter your initials to activate C~GATES and select the CIMS system and then
select MY INVENTIONS. You will get the following display or one similar to it:
Now this may be the biggest idea you have ever had so you will replace the first entry
in the line item list with your UFO idea. To do this you will enter (X) and respond
(N)o to the question if this is only a menu update.
You will respond (y)es to the question presented in the above display saying that you
wish to update this module.
The update arrow will point to the first line item and you will replace it with the
following as shown below:
When you hit enter the program will ask you the following question as shown below:
You will enter (D) for document and you will get an affirmative message saying that your
control module has been updated as shown:
Next the system will return back to the module you just updated. It is ready for you to use.
In this case you will simply position the cursor to line item A) UFO PROPULSION as shown
in the window below:
This will take you to the word processing free form document and you can now enter your
creative idea concerning the UFO you just saw:
When done entering the information, you will press ESC to exit and save data. The ESC key
is used to exit the program in the same way as the ESC key is used to exit a menu and
return to a previous menu. In the case of a document, it is saved to disk first and the
program exits.
Press back icon on web page to return to previous option.
